Interstate 15 (I-15) is an economic lifeline connecting San Bernardino County and the nation. Daily vehicle traffic averages about 223,000 and this number is expected to increase significantly during the coming decades as the population and economic standing of the High Desert continues to grow. To address these challenges, SBCTA will provide motorists a choice when traveling along I-15 and to encourage growth, a sustainable environment, and a high quality of life for everyone who lives, works and travels in and through San Bernardino County. When completed, the I-15 Corridor Project will add one to two Express Lanes in each direction between Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road and Duncan Canyon Road. Construction of the I-15 Corridor Contract 1 Project is scheduled to begin in 2024 and will address the most congested portion of the I-15 corridor, spanning approximately 6 miles from the San Bernardino/Riverside County Line to Foothill Boulevard.
