Innovation has been a driving influence as the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority continues to deliver on its promises to the voters while identifying new opportunities to effectively (and efficiently) move people and goods through the county.
One of those transportation solutions was the introduction of a tunnel connection between the Metrolink San Bernardino Line (Rancho Cucamonga Station) and the Ontario International Airport (ONT). At the Wednesday January 6th Board of Directors meeting, the Board approved a contract to provide project management/construction management (PCM) services for this important mobility connection.
The execution of a PCM Services contract does not commit SBCTA to a particular course of action beyond Notice to Proceed (NTP) 1 work, which will remain subject to the outcome of the environmental review processes. Typically, the agency brings a PCM team on after environmental clearance, but in this case, the PCM Services are starting before as the scope of work includes tasks associated with that effort.
In addition to bringing the PCM on board, the immediate next steps for the project include completing review of the Statement of Qualifications submitted in response to the Request for Qualifications for the Infrastructure Developer and reporting those findings at the February Board of Directors Meeting.
