IE Commuter Gains Recognition for Rideshare Incentive Program Outreach

At the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) annual conference, held in early May 2023, the IE Commuter team from the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) and the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) was honored with a CAPIO Epic Award for their public outreach efforts for expanding ridesharing in the Inland Empire. Receiving a CAPIO award for outreach is a coveted prize in California and represents the best of the best throughout the state.

IE Commuter’s $5/Day Rideshare Incentive program launched in April of 2022 to help encourage a return to rideshare. Working with partner agencies and regional employers, IE Commuter’s marketing team was able to maximize participation in the new program with a minimal advertising budget. The result — a 329% increase in program participation compared to participation in the previous $2/Day Rideshare Incentive.

The collaboration between RCTC and SBCTA is just another example of good governance and allows both agencies to maximize their resources for the benefit of the commuting public in the two counties.
