Victor Valley Transit Authority Celebrates 30 Years of Service

The Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) marked its 30th anniversary with a ceremony underlining the organization’s three-decade commitment to serving the High Desert community. The celebration took place at VVTA’s headquarters in Hesperia last month.
The event, attended by notable officials including Assemblyman Juan Carrillo and distinguished guests such as the mayors of Adelanto, Barstow, and Victorville, paid tribute to VVTA’s remarkable journey and dedication to serving the High Desert community.
Nancie Goff, CEO of Victor Valley Transit Authority, spoke about the organization’s achievements, emphasizing its commitment to accessibility and sustainability. She noted, “As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we reflect on the extraordinary journey that has brought us to this significant milestone. We’ve expanded our reach, increased efficiency, and made our services more accessible to everyone.”
San Bernardino County Transportation Authority’s Deputy Executive Director, Carrie Schindler highlighted some of those achievements. VVTA joined SBCTA in launching the first Vanpool program for San Bernardino County – now ranked as the 11th largest program in the United States and in 2018, they were first in the county to begin converting their fleet to Battery Electric Buses. They continue to be a leader in the industry by offering free student fares, transit equity days, clean air drives, and the first all-electric Vanpool in the United States.
As VVTA celebrates its 30th anniversary, it remains dedicated to enhancing the quality of public transportation services, reducing its environmental footprint, and staying at the forefront of technological advancements. The celebration serves as a testament to the strength, adaptability, and unwavering commitment of VVTA and its community partners.
