New Metrolink schedule begins June 6

Change expected to improve service and reduce train congestion.

LOS ANGELES – Beginning Monday, June 6, Metrolink will change its schedule to improve service and reduce train congestion. Metrolink’s 91 Line, Antelope Valley Line, Inland Empire-Orange County Line, Orange County Line, Riverside Line and Ventura County Line all will be effected. There will be no changes to the San Bernardino Line.
The June 6 schedule changes were made in coordination with rail partners Amtrak and the North County Transit District, along with Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway.
The most wide-spread changes to Metrolink service will occur on routes that connect to the 351-mile Los Angeles – San Diego – San Luis Obispo Rail Corridor (LOSSAN Corridor), which travels through a six-county coastal region in Southern California. The LOSSAN Agency is staffed by the Orange County Transportation Authority. The schedule adjustments along the LOSSAN Corridor were funded in part by Caltrans to enhance rail movement in the region.
Metrolink operates trains between Ventura and Oceanside along this route and also offers the Rail 2 Rail® program, which allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders along the Orange County and Ventura County lines to travel on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains within the station pairs of their pass at no additional charge.

All train schedules on Metrolink’s Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines will change.
No Orange County Line weekday or weekend train schedule will change by more than 15 minutes.
Inland Empire-Orange County Line trains will have similar time adjustments with the exception of weekday train 813, which will operate approximately 15 minutes later, and weekend train 857, which will operate 25 minutes earlier.
Two of the four weekend trains on Metrolink’s 91 Line will change. 91 Line train 751 will operate 10 minutes later, leaving Riverside-Downtown at 7:50 a.m. and arriving to Union Station at 9:30 a.m. Train 754 from Los Angeles to Riverside will run three minutes earlier.
Weekday 91 Line trains 705, 702 and 708 will all be changed. In addition, when service on the 91/Perris Valley Line (91/PVL) extension begins, trains 701, 703 and 705 will all originate at the Perris-South Station. In the evening, trains 702, 704 and 706 will all return to Perris.
Metrolink will announce the start date for 91/Perris Valley Line passenger service in the coming weeks. Once 91/PVL service begins, there will also be three round trips each weekday between Perris and the Riverside-Downtown Station. There will be no weekend service to or from Perris.
Nine of the Antelope Valley Line’s 30 weekday trains will be adjusted by no more than 15 minutes each. No Antelope Valley Line weekend trains will be changed.
All but one of the Riverside Line’s six trains from Union Station to Riverside-Downtown will operate either five minutes earlier or later. Morning trains 405 and 409 from Riverside to Los Angeles via Industry will both operate up to eight minutes earlier.
Ventura County Line train 109 will leave Los Angeles Union Station seven minutes earlier and arrive in Moorpark at 1:58 p.m. Ventura County Line train 116 will also operate seven minutes earlier departing Moorpark at 2:18 p.m.
