To kick off the new year, SBCTA brought home three Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Inland Empire awards in January – the Innovative Transportation Solutions Award for our Free Fares Initiative; Woman of the Year for Carrie Schindler, Deputy Executive Director; and Employer of the Year. The dinner event was a fun time including the 4.5 earthquake during the awards presentation.
SBCTA also took home the American General Contractor Association’s Owner of the Year award last week. Flatiron, our contractor for the Redlands Passenger Rail Project, nominated us for the award. They noted in the nomination that throughout the challenging project, “SBCTA’s leadership in teamwork, transparency, and commitment to addressing issues head-on as we encountered them, coupled with their willingness to partner consistently with our team, made all the difference.”
We look forward to what 2024 will bring as we continue to work on innovative projects with partners throughout our region to improve the quality of life and mobility in San Bernardino County.
