At their April 3, 2024 meeting, the SBCTA Board of Directors approved the submittal of a priority project list to the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) for funding through the federal Carbon Reduction Program (CRP). The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, established the CRP. Administered by the Federal Highway Administration, the program provides $6.4 billion in formula funding over five years for states to develop carbon reduction strategies and for projects to reduce transportation carbon dioxide emissions, including traffic management, public transportation, pedestrian facilities, alternative fuels, and port electrification. Over the five year program, California is set to receive more than $100 million per year in CRP funding.

The project list represents a mix of active transportation, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, street/road improvement and safety projects, as well as an innovative Vehicle Miles Travelled (VMT) mitigation program. Those projects include:
Residents throughout San Bernardino County will benefit from the transportation and climate impacts these projects will have in the coming years.
