San Bernardino County Transportation Authority Launches Vanpool Program

February 20, 2019

SB Loop
SBCTA has officially launched San Bernardino (SB) Loop Vanpool Program. The Loop Vanpool Program is designed to offer commuters a better, more relaxing alternative to driving alone. In addition, the Loop provides a subsidy of up to $400 each month towards the cost of a vanpool lease for vanpools commuting into the Loop’s service area: the San Bernardino Valley, San Bernardino Mountains, Morongo Valley or Colorado River Basin.
A vanpool consists of five to fifteen people sharing a ride to work or vocational/post-secondary school. In order to qualify for the subsidy, the vanpool destination must be within the service area, need to lease a five to fifteen passenger vanpool vehicle through an SBCTA approved leasing vendor, California Vanpool Authority (CalVans) or Commute with Enterprise, and must travel a minimum of 30 miles roundtrip for 12 or more days a month.
By driving your car less, you’ll be saving on gas and maintenance – not to mention wear and tear on you and your car. You can also take advantage of the extra time to relax, read a book, catch up on work, or simply enjoy the company of fellow passengers.
