Thanks to everyone for their patience during the full freeway closures last week. Here’s what’s planned for next week:
Northbound Nighttime freeway mainline closures will be required this week (8 p.m. – 4 a.m.). Traffic will be taken on and off the freeway at Barton Road. *UPDATED* FREEWAY CLOSURES THIS WEEK False work removal is scheduled for the week of October 22. Nighttime freeway mainline closures will be required (8 p.m. – 4 a.m.). Traffic will be taken on and off the freeway at Barton Road. Traffic movements will be limited to maximize flow back to the freeway. USE ALTERNATE ROUTES.
Next steps for the bridge include, but are not limited to: curing, strength testing, false work (temporary bridge support) removal, back-filling to the new bridge height and paving the connections. False work removal is scheduled f or the week of October 22.
Thank you all for your patience during the deck pour that occurred on Thursday, October 4th. Work was complete by mid-afternoon after nearly 50 trucks of concrete were pumped to form the new deck.
The construction team will be shifting the traffic pattern along the southbound off ramp of I-215 to align with La Crosse Street at Barton Road. The south side of the bridge pour is scheduled for next Thursday, October 4th.
Steel support elements are being completed as crews prepare for pouring the concrete for the deck sometime in the first week of October.
Crews will begin setting forms and preparing the steel reinforcements for the deck of the south side of the new bridge.
