The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) and the County of San Bernardino have collaborated on a range of projects through the agency’s history. One major project that illustrates that relationship is the Glen Helen Grade Separation Project that effectively maintains a vital connection in this semi-rural community just south of the Cajon Pass.
At the February SBCTA Board of Directors Meeting, the Board approved an additional $1.7 million in Measure I funds, coupled with the previous investment of approximately $5.9 million for the new structure, to address long-standing storm drain work that is a critical part of the project’s commitment.
Measure I, the half-cent sales tax measure in San Bernardino County, focuses on sales tax dollars that stay local for the betterment of transportation in our region. Measure I has been a critical part of our ability to effectively elevate our region during a time that has seen a 300% population boom since the 1970s. Measure I continues to be validated as one of the better investments made by our voters in the county’s history.
