Park & Ride Lots in Rancho Cucamonga

March 7, 2022

Park & Ride lots provide parking spaces for commuters to park and meet their carpool or vanpools, or for commuters making transit connections. Since 2004, SBCTA has operated a Park and Ride lot program in coordination with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), who is primarily responsible for liability while motorists use of the lots, as well as installing signage on freeways and local streets. SBCTA seeks suitable Park and Ride lot locations that have ample parking, are primarily Monday through Friday, and are convenient to motorists commuting to work.

Two Park and Ride locations being offered as options are Highland Avenue Community Church of the Nazarene and Community Baptist Church. Both are located in Rancho Cucamonga, California, and conveniently off State Route 210. While there was a decline in usage due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the leases have been renewed in anticipation of offices fully reopening and because of their prime locations and usage prior to the pandemic. SBCTA and other regional rideshare agency programs are planning to update rideshare and vanpool program offerings to encourage commuters to rideshare when they are ready and feel comfortable to do so.
