The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA), Caltrans, and the City of Colton are developing a project to improve Mount Vernon Avenue over Interstate 10. Once constructed, the project will improve circulation during high demand hours along Mount Vernon Avenue between East Valley Boulevard to the north and the I-10 eastbound ramps/Mount Vernon Avenue intersection to the south. The Draft Environmental Document (DED) released on July 2, 2021.

Draft Initial Study with Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration Availability

SBCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans and the City of Colton, proposes to construct improvements to Mount Vernon Avenue. Caltrans has studied the effects this project may have on the environment. Their studies show it will not significantly affect the quality of the environment. The report that explains the effects of the project is called an Initial Study (IS). This notice is to advise you of the preparation of the Draft Initial Study with Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) and of its availability for you to read.

On July 15, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., a virtual open house was hosted. The PPT presentation from the virtual open house and other project documents are included at the Project Updates tab (above.)
