Board President Ray Marquez (Chino Hills) was joined by fellow Board Member John Dutrey (Montclair) in a Transit Equity Day event held at the San Bernardino Transit Center in downtown San Bernardino.
On February 4th, the public was encouraged by multiple transit agencies from throughout the county to choose transit as a means to traveling to their destinations. As part of the Transit Equity Day activities, transit operators offered free bus and train fares for the day in an effort to introduce more people to the transportation choice of transit.
In addition, SBCTA spearheaded a Ride Happy campaign to promote positive rider etiquette. SBCTA Board Members Marquez and Dutrey then joined riders on both the Omnitrans SBX route from downtown San Bernardino to CSUSB. There they transferred to a Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) line for a return trip to the Transit Center.
